Best Way to Present Financial Data Clearly in a Dashboard?
#1
I’m working on a dashboard that includes financial information such as revenue, expenses, profit margins, budget comparisons, and a few performance ratios. The main challenge is deciding how much information should be visible at once without making the dashboard feel overloaded.

I’ve tried using charts for trends, cards for key figures, and tables for detailed values, but once more metrics are added, it becomes difficult to maintain a clear visual hierarchy. I’m also unsure whether financial ratios are better shown as standalone KPIs or alongside the underlying figures that explain how they were calculated.

While looking at different ways to organize financial information, I came across accounting assignment help resources that emphasize separating calculations from interpretation and presenting financial results in a structured way. That same principle seems useful when designing dashboards: show the important numbers first, then give users a way to explore the supporting detail.

For those who have built financial or reporting dashboards with Syncfusion components, what layout works best for you? Do you keep the first screen limited to a few important KPIs and move detailed analysis into tabs or drill-down views, or do users generally prefer having everything available on one page?

I’d also be interested in recommendations for choosing between charts, data grids, and summary cards when presenting financial data to users who may not have a technical or accounting background.
